Shane Mumford has traded football boots for boxing gloves as he claims victory in his first bout since retiring from AFL football. The heavyweight boxer took a little under 3 rounds to dispose of little known opponent Kyle Brumby in front of a packed house at Melbourne's boxing palace, The Pavilion. Though unconventional, Mumford was far too strong for Brumby despite his inexperience. Brumby on the other hand has fought professionally 20 or so times with nearly 30 amateur fights to boot. The former AFL footballer requires many more hours in the gym and some fresh tutelage, but plans to continue down the road of success inside the ring, with one on a fight with NRL tough nut Paul Gallen. Promoters Mick Gatto, Brian Armatruda along with Mumford's manager Ricky Nixon were very pleased with Mumford's foray into the sport of sin. ***This footage is subject to cost & copyright
