CKP Specialty Phodnicha Bhaat( tempered rice with Sode’( Dried Shrimp) Ingredients 2 cups cooked left over rice 1/2 cup cut Sode’ or dried shrimp 1 large onion finely chopped 3 green chillies chopped 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped 1 tsp ginger/ garlic paste 8 to 10 curry leaves 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp mustard seeds Pinch of Hing 4 tbsp lemon juice 6 tbsp oil Salt as per taste Little water if needed Chopped coriander leaves Method 1. Cut Sode’ or dried Shrimp in small pieces and wash it lightly under the water and keep aside 2. Lightly separate cooked rice by sprinkling water. Keep aside 3. In a pan, put oil, put mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Put hing, chopped garlic, chopped chillies and curry leaves. Sauté for 30 seconds on medium heat. 4. Add Sode’ or dried shrimp, ginger/ garlic paste and sauté on low heat for 1 minute. 5. Add finely chopped onions and mix well. Sauté for couple minutes. 6. Add about 3 tbsp water if needed so that everything mixes well and does not stick to the bottom. 7. Add turmeric powder. Cover and let it simmer on medium to low heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until Sode’ and onions are well cooked. 8. Add salt and lemon juice and cooked rice. Mix well. Cover and let it simmer on low heat for few minutes till you get a fantastic aroma of dried shrimp with rice. 9. Garnish with chopped coriander.
