Stitches did not hold up on vaginal cuff... so many things went out of control. Today, the surgeon saved my life! Hospitalized. When I arrived, I was set up for a colostomy and blood transfusion. I looked like death! I thought I died and landed in purgatory, watching from above. The surgeon said, "Don't move, stay on your back, your colon is floating into your vagina. The cuff stitches did not hold." Worst pain of my life! I have a new OB doctor /surgeon who was called in "specifically" for this surgery repair... and she saved my life. Emergency Surgery! Wow! What a shock! 9-weeks post hysterectomy and my endless pain hit its peak! This "emergency" repair is from the DaVinci Robotic assisted Hysterectomy, gone wrong. How? Why? When? I was just out of the house, with my medical driver, and I just walked into the door at my physical therapy appointment for vertigo. I could no longer walk, sit, or breathe... the pain was that intense. My therapist took one look at me and said, "You need a doctor! Now!" Since my Da Vinci Robotic surgery, I felt myself getting worse not better. When I was told the stitches inside had healed "at my 8-wk ck up," I was told to start walking... and I tried, even though I did not feel ready. Just four days into trying and my pain became unbearable. After surgery, I could feel the pain had lifted. And, I have two new holes in my belly to heal. (She went in my belly button and my old cesarean scar, which is below the bikini line.) Thank God she tried to hide the incisions, and she did! Bless her. I took her a thank you card after, for saving my life. In emergency room, I did not care about more punctures in my belly, I just wanted the pain gone, but later I did care, and was so grateful to her. That makes 9 holes in my belly now. Ten, when I add in my tubal ligation. I am on another 3-month recovery. Square one! So sad! Beyond sad! I can't quit crying! My daughter is flying in to help me for 2-wks. I need help! NO LIFTING, or there will be a third surgery if these stitches don't hold up!!!!! That is what the surgeon told me. I asked if the Da Vinci was the way to go for me and my new surgeon said, "Yes, because that is the way we get to test the lymph nodes for cancer. And, you were cleared of it." But, she said the stitching issue from Da Vinci she has seen before, it's a default of the machine. (it grabs very little tissue). So far, all cancer is clear. We will have a 3-month pap yet to do, and that keeps getting postponed until my body is 100% healed up. After 2 days i begged to go home, my vertigo was out of control. She wanted to keep me another day until i was eating better. Finally, later in the day, when i forced down food, and begged, she let me go. My daughter won't arrive for 2 days and that was a fear to let me go home too. It was so nice she cared so much about me. It was not that way in Oahu. After the robotic surgery, they kick you out the very next morning. It's not right! I was not able to fly back to Kauai the day after cancer surgery. But that is the program. Da Vinci needs to keep up its reputation for quick healing, back to work early. So wrong. Had another issue arise at the same time with a lump on the left chest/breast cavity.... had to go to mammogram and ultrasound and my body was not up to stretching at all. This was hard. (They had already booked a surgeon and surgery date ahead of time, thinking it was for sure an issue, the size of golf ball. It scared me so much because this exact area was checked specifically 2-years prior! And this time, the doctor found a small lump on the left breast. So, they had two areas to check. Oh, my God! We had just checked the left breast because i found a bump. It turned out all good! Thank the Lord! I needed some good news, for a change. I'm not Job! (From the Old Testament) The story of Job begins when the scene shifts to Heaven. God asks Satan his opinion on Job. Satan says, "If you take away everything Job has, he will curse you!" So God gave Satan permission to take his money and kill his children. Nonetheless, Job praised God. And then Satan's actions get worse. (There is a lesson in that parable somewhere for me. But please Satan, I don't want any more of Job's ordeals. No matter what, I will still praise God, so don't you bother.)
