Welcome back to the Riverbend Springs Farm Timelapse. After finishing the spinach harvest, we head back to the farm for a well-earned rest. The next day, we shift our focus to the corn harvest, readying our combine harvester for the task. To ensure efficiency, we invest in a corn header attachment, making the harvester fully equipped for the job. With the combine and supporting equipment transported to the first corn field, we begin the harvest. Almost immediately, we notice the straw residue left behind. Rather than delaying its collection, we apply a proven strategy for simultaneous harvesting and baling. We attach a bale truck directly to the combine, enabling it to bale the straw on the go. Trailing behind, a tractor with a bale stacker follows the combine, efficiently picking up and stacking the finished bales. This streamlined workflow minimizes downtime and ensures the field is cleared quickly. The harvested corn grain is transferred from the combine to a truck trailer for delivery to the mill, where it will be processed into corn flour. After successfully clearing the current fields, we seize the opportunity to expand operations by purchasing another corn field, keeping our farm’s productivity high.
