Seonyudo Park is a park located in Seonyudo, an island situated on Hangang River. The park area used to be a water filtration plant for the Hangang River. After the plant was closed, to bring nature back to Seoul, a resuscitate ecological park was built recycling the old water treatment facilities. After opening in April 2002, many people have visited Seonyudo Park. The park is a famous date spot and a great place to take a stroll or go on a picnic with family and friends. Enjoy the various gardens of water and forest prepared to show the beauty of nature. The park contains many gardens, lengthy walking trails, the Seoul Design gallery, the World Cup Fountain, and more! There is also an environmental shallow water playground for children. Also, the Seonyugyo bridge and observatory are breathtaking viewpoints. The splendid scenery changes from day to night and is a can't-miss view of Seoul. Enjoy, rest, and feel your body and mind heal inside the natural eco-friendly environment of Seonyudo Park. Visitors can access the park by taking a bus from Hapjeong Station, line number 2 and 6, Seonyudo Station, and Dangsan Station, both line number 9. Parking is not allowed inside the park. Visitors must park their cars at public parking lots near Hangang River and enter the park by crossing the Seonyugyo bridge or Yanghwadaegyo bridge on foot or taking a bus to the entrance. The park is free of charge and is open from 06:00 to 24:00. Bicycles, inline skates(rollerblades), and scooters(kickboards) are not allowed. After enjoying the park, visit Mangwondong, a district not far from Seonyudo and famous for Mangwon Market and Mangridan-gil. Mangwon Market has numerous unique Korean street foods that will satisfy your tongue. Also, Mangridan-gil is a street full of tasty restaurants and coffee shops.
