No words can express the magnitude of loss my mother has experienced."-Dr. Yousef Abu-Salha (Razan and Yusor's brother) On February 10, 2015, Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha were murdered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. On June 12, 2019, over four years later, their killer finally pleaded guilty in court to three counts of murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied building. He accepted three consecutive life sentences without parole.
