Growing Orchids Indoors Under Lights | Blooming High Light Orchids & Species - Quick Tips & Tricks

Hi all, Today’s video is a quick one on how I grow the collection indoors under LED lights. I’m making this video because when I first started growing, I doubted ever being able to bloom my cattleyas and tall dendrobiums. A year later, and many of them have given me blooms growing 100% under lights. The technology on LED’s has really come a long way, and I think it is possible to get these orchids to bloom without the agricultural "hydro" lights. Note: This is a bit dated, and the light technology has come a long way since, so I think you can get away with less light than they recommend depending on what sort of lights you pick. I’m not affiliated with Orchid Hobbyist lights, but found them to be very good. I’ve used Kihung and Monios with success in the past. My mother uses Barrina lights and is able to bloom cattleyas and dendrobiums as well. There are many fabulous options at different price points and you don’t have to spend too much to get good quality lights. Products I use are linked below.
