The Acoustic Sessions: Present HARTrio on June 3 & 4, 2022

The HARTrio repertoire showcases their influences of improvised music, jazz and contemporary styles. They played together for the first time in 2019 when there was an instant and undeniable connection with their individualistic styles beautifully complementing each other. Together they present an evocative repertoire - interpreting compositions by artists who have served as inspiration - with fluid narratives and soundscapes painting concepts of motion-stillness through a play of consonant-dissonant harmonies. AKSHADA KRISHNAN (piano) is a Bangalore-based pianist and improviser. She has been playing the piano since the age of 7, mostly self taught, starting off with western classical music. She specializes in improvised music, jazz, contemporary and minimalist styles. She is highly influenced by artists such as Shai Maestro, Brad Mehldau, Jésus Molina, Oscar Peterson, Chet Baker, Anouar Brahem, and Yann Tiersen. She has taught professionally at international schools, music schools, also conducting workshops for groups of all ages, HARIPRIYA NARASIMHAN Music has always been the one true constant throughout her life. Haripriya started learning Carnatic Vocals at the age of seven, followed by the violin. Several years later, she chanced upon the Electric Bass, and there was no looking back! Haripriya quit her corporate job to pursue music full time, teaching at a couple of music academies, as well as performing live with various bands around the country. "I am fortunate to have played with some of the best in the music industry" including MoonArra(jazz fusion) UNK(Funk-jazz) RiOT(Soul-funk) Grail of Destruction(Ambient Metal) Bangalore Broadway Company(Big band, Broadway) and Aman Mahajan Trio(Neo-jazz) Haripriya created a western classical guitar curriculum for private students, aimed at overall growth as a musician, irrespective of genre. She has instructed more than 50 student bands and prepared them for various live performances. ROHIT P.S. Rohit is an accomplished drummer/educator with close to a decade’s experience playing a multitude of genres(Pop, Rock, Jazz, Hip hop, Afro-Cuban) etc. He has performed with numerous artists, both Indian and international such as Shilpa Ananth(New York), Drew OfThe Drew(Los Angeles), Akram Abdulfattah(Palestine), Aman Mahajan(India), Prakash Sontakke(India), Radha Thomas(India) to name a few. He notably won the ‘Drum-off India 2021’ championship and was one of the finalists in the 'Drum-off global 2021' where he was chosen to represent India. His current projects include Akshada’s trio(Jazz), Aman Mahajan(Jazz), UNK- TheRadha Thomas Ensemble, Red Earth and Pouring Rain(Jazz fusion), Viraaj Arora(Cinematic), Midnight Poppies(Poetic Pop). Rohit also does studio recordings for songwriters.
