Coldrif Syrup Case: MP Doctor and Pharma Firm Accused | Police Investigation On

Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh): The Coldrif Syrup case has created panic across the entire state after the tragic deaths of several children. In this serious incident, both the doctor and the pharmaceutical company involved have been booked. SP Ajay Pandey stated that action has been taken based on the initial investigation and the BMO report. He added that Dr. Praveen Soni had treated the maximum number of affected children and had prescribed the Coldrif Cough Syrup — based on which he has been named as an accused in the case. SP Pandey further informed that Sresan Pharmaceuticals, a Tamil Nadu–based company that manufactured the cough syrup, has also been named as a prime accused in the case. The police have now taken the doctor into custody, and a case has been filed against the company under relevant sections of the Drug and Cosmetic Act. According to officials, the preliminary investigation revealed that the syrup contained certain chemical components harmful to children’s bodies. Teams from the police and the health department are jointly investigating to determine where the contamination occurred — in the manufacturing process, storage, or distribution chain. Following this tragic incident, an atmosphere of mourning and outrage prevails in Chhindwara district. Local residents and the victims’ families have demanded strict action against both the doctor and the pharmaceutical company.
