This is my Peugeot Ocean Express that I’ve swapped to 700c and made into my “road plus” bike. I could never get the roller cams to work well, and I already have a couple 26” builds. I picked up the bike secondhand for €40, the rear hub was toast and the seatpost was shimmed with an inner tube. Luckily I had the exact shim I needed! The bike is a little small for me, which made it a perfect candidate for a drop bar conversion, due to the short reach. The only calipers in my parts bin that could clear these 40mm Gravelking slicks were this pair of center pull MAFAC Racers. They play really nicely with my Dia Compe Gran Compe Aero levers, mounted on these Salsa Moto Ace Woodchippers. I had a Velo Orange 1”-1 1/8” adapter in my bin and got an UNO riser stem to help make up for the low stack height. I’ve got XTR FD and RD paired up to my fave Suntour barcons, shifting a 2x9 setup on this octalink Ultegra triple crankset setup with a 39/26 and a "bash guard" 40t. An 11-36 sram cassette on the matching Ultegra rear hub gives me plenty of range to climb the steep stuff here in eastern France. Mks pedals with cages are great, but I think i'll look into a wider pedal platform than these Sylvans. Looking forward to putting many many more miles on this thing, at least until I find a nicer frame to swap out for.
