Learn more about the Master Practitioner in Leadership Certificate: https://scs.georgetown.edu/programs/5... Executive Overview of Presentation: In this Knowledge @ Noon, learn from Jamie Kralovec, PDC faculty member and trained Ignatian spiritual director and professional urban planner, about why spirituality is a key component of ethical leadership. In recent years, scholars of leadership and management have turned their attention to why the spiritual dimension of human knowledge can enhance effective leadership in the workplace. As a university grounded in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition and its abiding openness to inter-religious dialogue and multi-faith perspectives, Georgetown is in a unique perspective to offer wisdom to professional learners on this important, but sometimes under-attended, topic of discussion for emerging leaders. You'll walk away from the session with some suggestions for interior practices that help cultivate self awareness and social awareness needed to lead ethically in today's world. About the Presenter: Jamie Kralovec is the director for Mission & Ministry at Georgetown University Capitol Campus. He earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s of Urban Planning from New York University, and a master’s in Christian Spirituality from Fordham University in addition to becoming a spiritual director and retreat giver of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola through the Ignatian Training Program at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, DC. He is completing a Doctor of Ministry from Fordham University on the topic of “Ignatian Urbanism and the Mission-Clarifying Spiritual Exercises of Urban Planning.” Kralovec also serves on the faculty of the Urban &; Regional Planning program at the School of Continuing Studies. Prior to arriving at Georgetown in 2014, he served on President Obama’s White House Council on Strong Cities, Strong Communities where he managed the deployment of federal technical assistance, collection of community-based data, and promotion of national best practices. He has contributed many articles and interviews for national publications like Evidence Matters, America Magazine, U.S. Catholic, and Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education about the relationship between sustainable and equitable urban development and Catholic Social Teaching and Jesuit spirituality.
