During the 24th Hunger Games, tensions began rising with the alliance between the District 4 & District 7 tributes. On day 7, after an earthquake wrecked havock on the arena, the District 4 tributes Sirena and Kaiden decided to split up from Erica and London due to arguing intensifying in the group. Very soon after, the pair from 4 were approached by the remaining career tributes, Treasure and Yahaira, who recruited the duo into their alliance as they lost half of their members, and being from District 4, Sirena and Kaiden had knowledge with fishing which was an integral part of the arena’s landscape. Erica, eventually discovering her former allies, joined the careers, intended on getting revenge. She and London recruited Nuvema from 6 to help them get rid of the career’s alliance. They successfully killed Treasure, but in return, London was killed by Sirena, adding more fuel to the fire for Erica. Erica would later kill her own ally, Nuvema, due to her frustration with London’s death. Sirena and Kaiden, on the other hand, would kill their final ally, Yahaira, during the final five. Towards the finale, Erica and Tidal allied and planned to help each other take down the pair from 4. Erica successfully murdered Kaiden, but Sirena managed to kill Tidal before facing off with her final opponent and former ally Erica. Before the two girls began fighting, Erica expressed her anger at Sirena for leaving her and London for the careers. On top of that, she taunted Sirena and bragged about killing Kaiden, telling Sirena that she’s a coldhearted monster like all the other careers and doesn’t deserve to go home. This pushed Sirena to the edge, and she attacked Erica, who got the upper hand and pinned Sirena to the ground. Erica was about to deliver the final blow, but Sirena pulled out a knife she had hidden in her pocket and stabbed Erica in the abdomen. Sirena held Erica as she lay dying, and the two girls apologized to each other. Erica’s cannon fired, leaving Sirena as the victor of the 24th Hunger Games. Crying, she closed Erica’s eyes, before making her way over to Kaiden’s body. She kissed Kaiden, and then started apologizing to him, and held on to him, continuing to sob while the hovercraft had to physically pull her away. After winning the games, Sirena was very famous in the Capitol, mainly due to her bravery and relationship with Kaiden, which was the first romance in the Hunger Games ever recorded. In her victor’s interview, Sirena wore a big purple gown, and held her head high, and was determined to move on with her life despite the grief she experienced in the arena. Sadly, she also became one of the first victors to be prostituted by Capitol citizens. When Sirena returned home, she started showing signs of pregnancy, and a test confirmed the father was Kaiden, and she had become pregnant in the arena. This revelation is what caused the Capitol to start giving birth control to female tributes. Sirena gave birth to a baby boy named Cove, and although she missed Kaiden every day, she had peace knowing a part of him was living in her son. After the 25th Hunger Games, a highly successful quarter quell, Sirena started making plans to open a training academy in District 4, similar to that of the ones in the career districts, that would help prepare children in the district to survive the games in case they were reaped. Due to Sirena’s popularity, the plan was approved, and the Academy opened the spring before the 26th Hunger Games, and District 4’s success rate skyrocketed after becoming an official career district. After working hard for so many years as the dean of District 4’s new academy, Sirena decided that she wanted to settle down, and resigned from the position. She started rebuilding her relationship with her father, was grateful to finally be out of poverty, and she later married Dorian Barton, a friend of Kaiden’s who Sirena bonded with over Kaiden’s death. After resigning from leadership, the academy that Sirena founded to help prepare children in case they got reaped, turned into something totally different. The children of District 4 started becoming radicalized as the academy grew over time, and new leaders were sworn in. Now kids started volunteering and taking pride in competing in the hunger games, and Sirena did not like this one bit. This is the last thing she wanted when she made plans to build an academy, and felt regret that her once humble and beloved district was turning into a bloodthirsty, brainwashed place similar to districts 1 & 2.
