Adventure on SUNFLOWER MINE LOOP!

Today’s feature is Sunflower Mine Loop! This trail is near the Mt Ord trailhead off Highway 87, and about 30minutes south of Payson. This is one of our favorite trails as it is challenging and absolutely beautiful! The choice of obstacles can increase the trail difficulty rating and whether you go through the wash or parallel to it. The best time to run it is now, in the spring after the snow melt runoff has left a trickle of water. In the winter you can expect snow as the highest elevation on the trail is about 5400ft and lots of shade to prevent melt.
