Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 gameplay, review, and first impressions. When i first dove into Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2 I expected nothing more than mindless, over the top action. This concept is reinforced by the game greeting you with exactly what you’d think: a testosterone-fueled power fantasy where I could blast through hordes of tyranids and forces of chaos while shouting "FOR THE EMPEROR!" The genre tags - third-person shooter, hack-and-slash, action-adventure RPG - found on wikipedia and steam by the way didn’t do the game any favours either. Combined with the developers favoring nods to gears of war and halo - let’s just say my suspicions were confirmed. This was all about style over substance.
