In inner-city Detroit, Evelyn Mercer, beloved citizen and foster mother, gets killed during what seems to be a random grocery store robbery. Reunited during her funerals, four of her now grown adoptive sons decide to investigate the murder suspecting that the murder wasn’t so accidental after all. Jack (Garrett Hedlund), Angel (Tyrese Gibson), Bobby (Mark Wahlberg) and Jeremiah (André Benjamin) soon discover that the event was indeed part of criminal activities.
