A Tarsorrhaphy is an important tool for challenging situations when the cornea has difficulty healing. Typically, a temporary suture tarsorrhaphy is required. Sometimes, a more aggressive options with a permanent tarsorrhaphy is required. But these are invasive options and if you try to reverse a permanent tarsorrhaphy, this can cause rounding of the lateral canthus, persistent webbing, or cosmetic deformity. I describe a simple, non-invasive, inexpensive, and quickly reversible tarsorrhaphy technique using 1 inch medical grade plastic tape. This is a highly effective option.
