Today we are going to the Highlands to go scotch tastings with an overnight stay in Inverness, Scotland. In today's video we leave from Edinburgh, Scotland and take a self guided tour to different distilleries in the highlands. We had a 10:30 tour which typically lasts for 3 hours at Balvenie. The drive is about 3 hours so we had to leave super early and most of the drive is on a highway and was in the dark. When the sun finally came out the drive was amazing and we enjoyed seeing the countryside. When driving in Scotland you will find yourself on 2 lane roads a lot which can really hinder you as you try to drive or can cause a lot of traffic so plan accordingly. The first stop was to Balvenie where we did a full tour. We also stopped by the Glenfiddich lounge which is on the same grounds. We did a tasting at Glenlivet and then made our way to Loch Ness to see if you could spot the monster. After that we ended the trip in Inverness which was an amazing place to stay. We could have stayed closer to the distilleries but I knew that I'd want to see Loch Ness which is only about 20 minutes away from Inverness and I'm glad we stayed there. The city was really cool, pretty, and it didn't hurt that we stay in a place with an amazing view. We ended up the trip by making our way back to Edinburgh but not before we made stops at Aberlour and Dewar's. I then break down which were the best places we went, whether you need a tour at each location, and rank the experience.
