New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) promotes the quality and affordability of the city’s housing and the strength and diversity of its many neighborhoods. Michael Sandler, HPD Assistant Commissioner for Neighborhood Development and Stabilization provides background on the city’s affordable housing crises and HPD’s role in creating and preserving affordable housing and maintaining the quality of the city’s housing stock. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preservation School is generously supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
