It causes coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness. Asthma can be life-threatening if not treated properly. We all know how important it is to manage asthma the right way, but did you know that asthma is common among children? More than 6 million children have asthma in the United States. About 90% of those children developed asthma before the age of 6. Asthma is more common in children with allergies, eczema, or hay fever. If you have a child diagnosed with asthma, work with your child's pediatrician to create an Asthma Action Plan. This will help you and your child manage asthma, avoid triggers and prevent symptoms.
