EXTENDED VERSION Copy of 911 calls and communication between citizen, Deputy, Village Clerk and Board member regarding citizen requesting FOIA information at Village office. Background on situation: On December 18, 2025, Steve Bell contacted the Village of Lodgepole Clerk's office asking for an itemized statement of the estimated $487 in charges the Village Board is requiring to get Freedom of Information Act requests. With a refusal to provide a statement, the Village Attorney advised Mr. Bell to go to the Village office to pay the "deposit" before the FOIA requests would be fulfilled. When Mr. Bell entered the office, on December 19, 2025, the Clerk, Julie Hays, refused to take his money. There was a confrontation with an individual not associated with the Village and the Cheyenne County Sheriff's office was called. The Sheriff's Deputy trespassed Mr. Bell under threat of arrest.
