WILD CAMP NEIGHBOURS IN TASMANIA|CARAVANNING-TOURING-RV-4X4

This week we have pigs as camp neighbours. We pickup from our last episode here in Tasmania and get a weather window to check out the coast. We leave the little town of Derby and head to Musselroe Bay to a free off-grid camp which was amazing. Deryck tried his luck at fishing after a local said there are squid at the point. He set off for a few hours on foot - what will the outcome be? We enjoyed the sunset on the coast but decided to head back inland due to high wind and weather conditions continuing to prove challenging. The road was windy, wet and steep which made for driving very difficult in our large caravan setup in Tasmania but we drove to the conditions, took it slow and steady and we made it to Weldborough Historic Hotel which is between Derby (an mountain biking hub and Mecca) to St Helens on the east cost of Tasmania. We used this camp to check out Mt Paris Dam wall which was pretty interesting and enjoyed our walk around this point of interest. We had dinner at the pub that night (the food in Tasmania is amazing!) and enjoyed meeting some new Travellers in the camp. We then headed off in the morning to Pyengana which is famous for its dairy (Tasmania has some amazing cheese!) and camped at the free-camp in front of The Pub In The Paddock (an iconic pub in Tasmania) where we literally camped next to the local pigs. We used this camp as a base and went up and explored the waterfalls in the area (highly recommend Tasmania for its many beautiful waterfalls) and ended with another dinner at the pub with some camp neighbours.
