There is a Full playlist below for the restoration conservation of this cabinet.    • Restoration Of A Napoleon lll Boulle Marqu...   When we 1st seen this cabinet one could tell it had been stored or sitting somewhere abandoned for many many years. The whole cabinet was so dry and dirty with numerous attempted botch repairs over the years. Most of the brass strip inlay was missing, surly i thought someone who owned this cabinet would have kept these missing pieces. My conclusion basically was that the previous owners seen no value in it and were probably fed up with all the brass popping off. The Ebonised Old Finish was in terrible condition with big splits in the sides which were warped and poorly repaired with modern adhesive and the whole piece was like it had been shot peened with 1000s of tiny dents. How did it end up in Australia who knows furniture items like this cabinet were mainly owned by the Aristocracy as belonging to a class of people who hold high social rank After about a year of looking at the cabinet in my furniture to be restored pile i started to get a feel of what was involved or so i though haha, so i decided to put some time aside and bring this hidden beauty back to her former glory not for profit but for the love of something that deserves a second chance to shine again.
