QUEEN QUEEN QUEEN Tour: Sheer Heart Attack | Euro Leg Time: 30 October 1974 - 13 December 1974 Where: Belgium, England (UK), Finland, The Netherlands, Scotland (UK), Spain, Sweden, Wales (UK), West Germany Amount Shows: 29 (8 are circulating - not counting "Live at the Rainbow") Used Show: 7 Welcome to another installment of the live album series! This one is all about Queen's first entire headlining tour, the Sheer Heart Attack Tour! Starting off we have the European Leg, the first time the band took on the rest of Europe rather than just concentrating on the UK. Overall, they played 29 shows across seven countries for about a month and a half. Two shows of the tour were filmed and later released as a live album with pitch corrections and other technical changes to make the show(s) seem flawless. These recordings have naturally not been used in this live album, both for copyright and for accuracy reasons. For the first time, the setlist is changed up a bit more: The newly released "Now I'm Here" now follows the intro tape and while arrangement and tempo would definitely change over the years, the song would never leave a Queen setlist, being the most played song by the band! Following are "Ogre Battle", "Father to Son" and "White Queen", all of which come from "Queen II" before another new song is played, "Flick of the Wrist". Afterwards, the band play their first medley ever, consisting of three new songs and a tiny snippet of "The March of the Black Queen" in the end. For now, only one verse and chorus are played during "Killer Queen" but the second pair would follow in Japan. We then get into "Son and Daughter" which also contains Brian's solo spot. The song and solo would gradually grow in time over this tour. The band then play a few familiar rockers and a "new" one with "Stone Cold Crazy" although it is being said that this one was played as early as 1970! Finishing off the main set is the last new song, "In the Lap of the Gods...Revisited", with this being the only tour to feature both versions of the track. The only encore consists of covers "Big Spender" and "Jailhouse Rock" as well as Roger's "Queen" track "Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll". After about a minute, a tape now plays a Brianised version of "God Save the Queen" which would soon became the band's trademark outroduction. 00:00:00 - 01.
