Hello guys, Welcome to CredR's Review of the Ducati Diavel Carbon You can see the Detailed Review here: http://www.credr.com/new-bikes/ducati... The Italian manufacturer Ducati is symbolic in the world of motorcycles with a legacy of unmatched super quality of performance motorcycles. With its headquarters in Bolgona, Italy Ducati is owned by German automotive manufacturer Audi through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini, which is all owned by the Volkswagen Group. Ducati has set up showrooms Delhi, Gurgaon & Mumbai at the moment and is working on more locations across the country. And the exquisite lineup of motorcycles has ever since charmed the eyes of passionate bikers on the country. The latest that Ducati has is the all new Diavel. Coming across as one of the only muscle bikes in the world, the Diavel is one of the most aggressive and mean looking motorcycles out there. Design: The Diavel measures 2,235mm in length, 1,192mm in height, 860mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1,580mm. The front end of the bike has a large LED light system which is housed in a brushed aluminum casing. Multiple LEDs are used to create an ornament like effect at the front and they even illuminated the road well along with functioning as DRL’s. Above the lights stands a swept back bikini faring which extends all the way up to that hot instrument cluster. The front end has upside-down telescopic forks which are painted in black and hoists the large multi spoke black and silver alloys. The forks hold the large Brembo Monobloc four piston calipers with ABS as standard. The front end gets a very short mud flap which just acts a cover for the top section. Looking at the bike from the front, things are minimalistic, still quite an eyeball magnet. The fuel tank has a long fiber under the handlebar till the rider seat. Engine: Powering the Ducati Diavel is a 1,198.4cc, Testastretta, 11° L-Twin, 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, liquid cooled petrol motor producing 162 BHP of power @ 9,250 RPM & 130.5 Nm of torque @ 8,000 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch in between. The engine has been built to deliver strong acceleration when needed along with a smooth power delivery to cruise when on the highways. Thanks to the dual spark plugs, the engine has a healthy and smooth torque curve even at low RPMs making it very easy to ride around the city. Ride-by-Wire brings multiple riding modes on offer to suit individual riding styles. What’s the difference in riding modes? 162 HP in sports style, 162 HP in linear fashion and 100 BHP for city use. The Diavel has unique laterally mounted radiators beneath the petrol tank. What works well in this setup is that the bikes overall aerodynamics helps in drawing cooler air along with higher air-flow when the engine’s hot. Ride & Handling: We rode this bike in the city on the urban mode. This mode limits the bike to a 100 BHP and its ideal for a city commute. The traction control is also here at the highest. The power delivery is very linear on this mode and the traction is ample. This mode will be loved by riders during the monsoon as even with your most aggressive throttle input, the rear wheel wouldn’t start spinning all over the place. In-city ride ability is good and there’s plenty of torque available lower down the rev range. We managed to stay in second gear for a good distance while stuck in traffic. The engine performed well with no rattling. The ground clearance of 130mm doesn’t sound very generous, the motorcycle managed to tackle medium sized speed breakers well, without scraping. Unleash this beast on the open and you will know the power this thing has. On the Touring and Sport modes, the whole 162 HP is delivered to that rear wheel. The traction control goes to 1 on this mode. The acceleration is brutal on this mode. The scooped seat ensures that you don’t fly off this thing. Hitting a 100 kmph is a piece of cake.
