Tommy Tranquil is an electronic musician primarily making techno so these sounds are designed with techno in mind but may also be suited for other styles of electronic music as well. All sounds are demoed in the YouTube video. Each sound is meticulously crafted to inspire creativity & bring your artistic vision to life. These 128 sounds include 91 leads 25 sound effects 6 pads & 6 sequence sounds. All sounds are a bit leady even the sound effects. Modwheel, aftertouch, velocity, & all assignable parameters have been meaningfully programmed for every patch. Delivery of this content is a sysex file that can be loaded into your Mohpo. You may want to back up your existing Mopho sounds with a librarian before transferring the sound bank. Be sure to set your Mopho to MIDI channel 1 to receive these sounds. You can transfer the sounds with Sysex Librarian on a Mac or MIDI-OX on a Windows computer. The Dave Smith Instruments Mopho Desktop is a great bang for the buck analog monosynth. It features two oscillators each with a beefy sub & a noise oscillator. The filter is switchable between 12 & 24 dB & features that classic Sequential sound. What really makes this synth special is the four LFOs three envelopes & four slot mod matrix. There are some wild sounds to be had. My only complaint about this synth is that at higher rates the LFOs don’t behave as they should AT ALL so analog FM tones aren’t even a little bit of an option. In my work I found that this excels at leads & sequence sounds as well as wild LFO effect sounds. The envelopes are quite fast & low amounts of envelope modulation especially on the filter really sets it off. There are extensive assignments for MIDI controllers which turns this into a pretty expressive instrument. All in all the Mopho is a great sound designers tool to pick up.
