More about the banjo: Invented by African slaves in the Caribbean and American south, earliest banjo were built with a hallowed gourd body and stick for the neck, similar to some West African instruments. Materials: recycled jar or oatmeal cap craft stick (or popsicle stick) rubber bands glue tape markers Instructions: Wrap rubber bands around the jar cap. Tape the back of the rubber bands to stay in place. Glue or tape the jar cap to one end of the craft stick. Use markers to customize the craft stick. Jam with your new banjo!
