I'd never heard of petroglyphs two days prior to this visit but I do love history and once I read about them I just had to go. I cycled 22km or thereabouts to get there which was all flat until the end where there was a monster hill to climb. The views at the top were a fantastic though, a magnificent vista of Metro Manila aid out before me. Angono is the art capital of the Philippines, I hear, so the petroglyphs are perfectly placed as the oldest artwork in the Philippines, about 4,000 years old and carved out by people we know very little about but who probably lived in the caves overlooking where Manila now stands.
