BIG UPDAT!!!!! Saturday July 17th 2021 Forest Road 2 on the Croom Tract is closed due to wet conditions. The road will remain closed from Forest Road 3 to Forest Road 7 until further notice. I have seen videos of what looks like a swamp drive through tire deep water. We met at McDonalds near 50 and 75 and then headed west towards the coast. A couple of miles and we pulled off the hwy and started our test run. It started off dry enough but as soon as we made out way to the North Fence line the mud started to fly. Recoveries at almost every hole. What I ran: 2007 JK with 35” Patagonia Mud tires. 3.5 inch lift and no lockers. I got stuck… most of us got stuck. Each hole has a bypass so it is easy to go around. Some of the ruts hidden under the water were over the tires and you would get stuck on roots and axle out on the ruts. Do not try this place solo, it is a long walk out. Have recovery rope.
