Sometimes when you've run a long race, as you approach the end you get to the place where you just want to finish and be done with it. I once ran in a 10K race and that last stretch of road I couldn't wait to be done....I didn't care if I was last place or what....just wanted to be done. But I was also not a professional runner. It was a race I undertook just to see if I could do it. While I had practiced running every day, I wouldn't say I had trained for the race like serious runners do. The Apostle Paul; however, was a "professional" believer. He devoted his life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart. He offered himself as "a living sacrifice" to the Lord, which is what every believer should do. We shouldn't approach the Christian life as merely a hobby, but what everything in our life should revolve around. And at the end of his life, Paul declared that he had fought a good fight, he had finished the race, and that he had kept the faith.
