"Our 50th year at Northstar has been one full of memories. We kicked off our 50th standing on the summit of Mt. Pluto to celebrate the opening of the new Comstock chair, where we shared that the sentiment would be a season to remember – little did we know just how memorable it would be. It started snowing on November 1 and it just kept coming, taking us to 672”. This has been the snowiest year in Tahoe in the 50 years Northstar has existed. We’re grateful to our team who, day after day and night after night, managed these truly impressive storms with such determination. They put their hearts into coming together as a team to work through the challenges that came with this level of snow. This has also been a year of deep connections – pun intended. The passion and togetherness that drove this season started decades ago. We reunited with some of the founding leaders who have deep roots here and envisioned Northstar to be a place of innovation and progression. Their connection with this mountain and collaboration is what set in motion a culture we call ‘One Northstar,’ and it’s what lives on to this day. As we close out this memorable year, we want to honor this mountain – this rock, literally. Northstar holds a special place in our lives, and in our hearts. The timeless beauty and views from Martis Peak, Lookout Peak and Mt. Pluto to the pines, the granite boulders, the views of Tahoe, Martis Valley, Truckee. We’ve shared memories whether in the glades, the trees, the powder, the groomers, the parks, the bike trails… It is, without question, more than just a ski resort. For 50 years, it has been a place where we come together to play and connect deeply over our shared love of this place. Here’s to another 50 years and creating a place of welcoming to make memories and deep connections here on this mountain.
