Hi everyone! Sorry for the delays, but its once again time for a full series retrospective! And this time we will talk about the wonderfully artistic and subtly solid Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. As displayed by the title this series is one based on the famous novel of the same name by the French novelist Alexandre Dumas, although there is much more to this series than just the source material. While the source material is undoubtedly a time proven classic, Gankutsuou brings its own interpretation of it and can definitely stand on its own. From slight deviations from the original plot, to a solid OST, to one of the most memorable visual styles I’ve ever seen in an anime, this series brings alot to the table and is a worthy entry into our lists of great Obscure Anime Memories. And of course… Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo is a production of Gonzo, and based of the book "The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
