Today Shayla was back to filming daily chores around Mud Run Meadow. With winter routines settling in, she’s considering shifting long-form videos to Mondays only, while continuing to share regular updates and moments from the farm daily on shorts. The day started with feeding the cats and bunnies before letting out the Highland cows. Atley was more interested in breaking up the hay with her horns than actually eating it. Chickens and Honey were let out next. Later in the afternoon, Shayla cleaned the chicken coops and noticed Felicia’s head feathers are finally starting to grow back. Over winter break, Kiss was moved to the big coop. While it doesn’t solve having too many chickens, it’s giving Felicia a break from breeding and Nugget has stopped fighting with him. The bunny area got cleaned and Luca handed out enrichment treats. Stalls were scooped while the cats attempted (and failed) a mouse hunt in the cow barn. The cows spent most of the day relaxing in the back of the pasture. Two chickens needed some extra care today. Moose was treated for mites after a thorough foot check, and Clover has a bad case of bumblefoot, so she received an Epsom salt soak and drawing salve. Shayla will continue treating her until the infection clears. Wayne handled evening chores while Shayla was at swim practice, but she still made sure to come out and tell the cows good night before closing the barn. #MudRunMeadow #HighlandCows #FarmLife #HobbyFarm #WinterOnTheFarm #ChickenCare #Bumblefoot #FarmChores #DailyFarmLife #CountryLiving
