What Is Shortwave Radio?

Have you ever wondered what exactly is shortwave radio? In this video, I do a brief and simple explanation of shortwave and what it is all about. My first experience with shortwave was when I was 11 years old. My parents gave me a portable stereo for Christmas, which included AM, FM and shortwave. I would spend hours listening to the weird and wonderful sounds of shortwave radio. I heard shows from all over the planet, often in languages that I did not understand. I loved it. Over time shortwave radio started to lose its relevance, but there are still many people out there who love shortwave radio and still listen to it. Shortwave also fills a very important role in war zones. A signal can be sent from one transmitter, and sent far away to other corners of the globe. Because of this, it is very hard for shortwave signal to be censored by the government. It is still used to get information out there, across very far distances, at very low cost.
