10 Laundry Tips From A Dry Cleaner

Here are 10 laundry tips from a dry cleaner: (I threw in a few extra cause I had to shorten the video for YouTube) Check out the book here!!! https://geni.us/LaundryBook 1) Sort by color then item weight. You don't want dark dye and lint on your whites cause they'll look grey and dingy. You don't want white lint on your darks either! 2) Put small, delicate items in mesh bags. This is a great way to avoid losing socks also.  3) Pretreat stains! All purpose enzymatic stain removers will provide best results, but my DIY recipe is: equal parts water and white vinegar and a few drops of dish soap mixed in a spray bottle.  4) Try using cold water for most loads. You'll reduce your energy consumption by 90% (hot to cold) plus modern appliances and cleaning products are now designed to work in cold water.  5) Stop using fabric softener, it makes stuff less absorbent. That's bad news for anything designed to absorb sweat like workout clothes, towels, and sheets.  6) Try using the express cycle more, it's short and is more sustainable. Great for clothes that aren't that dirty or if you're in a rush.  7) Avoid using timed dry, youll overcook and wrinkle your clothes. moisture sensors are real folks!!! 8) Use dryer balls, they will give you a more even dryness, this is very important for sheets and towels. Add a drop of essential oil for added fragrance.  9) Inspect before drying, best way to set a stain is by tumble drying it. You are literally COOKING a stain when tumble drying it. And no hot water doesn't set a stain. 10) These are some of my favorite extra products: boosters, oxygen bleach, and rinse products. For more tips like this check out The Laundry Book which has tons of information like this plus a huge amount of stain removal guides.  I hope this helps!
