After hanging up his boots, Stuart's coaching path has been remarkably varied and internationally focused. He began at university level as head coach at Loughborough University, where he achieved considerable success including BUCS Championships. His appetite for challenges then took him to Scottish League football with Stirling Albion, where he experienced the highs and lows of professional management. Stuart's expertise in youth development caught the attention of the Scottish Football Association, who appointed him to lead their U16 national team program. His success at youth level led to his appointment as interim manager of Scotland's women's national team in 2021, demonstrating his versatility across different levels and demographics of the game. His career continued to evolve with a stint developing young talent at Celtic's academy before his current dual role as assistant coach for Northern Ireland's women's national team and FIFA talent scout in Ghana.
