You are absolutely welcome to research those and learn more on your own time. I think for each person, your understanding of naming and impact might be a bit different. As such, I am less interested in what I personally find to be the more so intellectual particulars of this conversation. I will say one thing, a focus on the "ego" and or "egoic manipulation" I find to be a very indirect or incomplete assessment of what is actually happening in most cases. There are plenty of genuine leaders with bravado, even excessive bravado, who are not abusive. Discernment can be tricky here and very important, particularly in this timing. Disliking a personality, a specific religious practice, organized religion, new age spirituality, w*tchcrafts or astrology are not proof of or evidences of abuse. Becoming clear on what the issue is, is partly how to solve it. I would go so far as to say the focus on likability is how a lot of these unqualified preachers, false teachers, fake intuitives, allegedly psychic readers, fake "spiritualists," fraudulent "healers," self named "shamans," ill gotten "life coaches," essence thieving "tarot readers," are getting away with as much as they are. It might be helpful for you to become vigilant around vetting people who want to become more than they are without training, apprenticeship, grounding or time. In short, my wish for you is to help you become better at blocking something I see common and almost rampantly impacting sensitive people in the major religions, in churches, at temples, in allegedly "spiritual" communities, in c*vens, very heavy-handedly present in tarot and in other "meditation" oriented practices. What is happening here? Manipulation of free will (using occ*ltic devices to harm a person's body, mind or consent, yes even in churches some are doing this) Outright extreme mental abuse (bashing victims to the point of physical losses), Manipulation of proximity (overfamiliarity/fake friendship/love bombing/gaslighting/forceful r*tuals) Extreme extreme forms of privacy invasion (this part of it, the stalking, is truly extraordinary almost universally) Manipulation via non consensual fake charity (Random negative "prophecies" and pretend holiness) Energy breech of consent All manner of theft (a delusion where they come to believe they deserve what you have) In the more traditional 'What is narcissism?' conversation, I feel we have gotten to the point where most people realize their main objectives are to a. steal from the victims (time/energy/resources/documents/cash) b. get constant attention from a certain audience c. make the victim look "bad" or in this case "sinful" d. be the "victims" both literally (theft of personality/theft of storyline) and figuratively (self victimization / false victimization are the absolute core of all smear campaigns ) This in my sincere opinion is not different from that. Focusing on how selfish such and such person is, how hypocritical which ever religious organization might be etc I feel might be a distraction from the focuses. They are stealing from people. Blatantly, and sometimes to a catastrophic degree. Being distracted by how "bad" they are ethically (some of them are using making you "feel good" to do all of the above), I feel almost allows one to not engage with the work of developing a strategy to design a boundary which effectively prevents anyone from readily inflicting damage on a lifetime, income, reputation, state of being or relationship with your own self selected spirituality. May you, your body, your mind, your time, the work of your hands, your day to day schedule, your ideas, your will for life, your identity and your unique imprint on this world be fully and completely protected from charlatans and their various ways and means of theft. May you find and connect with healthy spiritual leadership, clientele, readers, friends, audiences and authority figures who are genuinely invested in your wellbeing, right to privacy, right to respect and most of all your divine right to your own sovereign state of being.
