As you noticed, this sharpener is ridiculously fast! Sadly this doesn't have an auto stop, but you can slightly feel when the pencil is sharpened...sometimes. Most of the time it will eat down the pencils so you will have to be careful. It takes a second or two to fully sharpen a pencil to a needle like point. It sharpens colored pencils amazingly! Again you will have to be careful because it will eat down the pencils, but you can see that it produces amazing razor sharp points on the colored pencils. I would highly recommend this to anyone who does a lot of high volume sharpening. This would be amazing in a classroom setting, and for artists as well because it sharpens colored pencils like butter...the points are super sharp and quick results.
