Welcome to Baan Dam Museum or commonly known in English as Black House. Located in Nang Lae, Chiang Rai, Thailand, this magnificent house complex as amazingly dark architecture which emulates Buddhist elements and houses a huge collection of taxidermy, animal skeletons, skins and teeth! This house was constructed by artist Thawan Duchanee, an apprentice of national artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat, who created the famous Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple. Baan Dam Museum or Black House, is a large but eery complex which, contrary to the purity and brightness of the White Temple, displays more darkness and sadism in his work. Most of the structure in the complex are made of dark teak wood, and it's very rare that you see anything bright coloured!
