Nika once said that the hardest thing she ever had to do was nothing at all. In her talk, she encourages listeners to seek the power in the fullness of process and rethink the wait. After surviving a massive brain stem stroke at only 20 years old, Nika lay paralyzed in the hospital, listening to doctors warn her family that she had as little as 48 hours to live. But despite the odds, she recovered, returned to school, and went on to become the Texas Education Agency’s 2007 Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
