Row Over Manipur Assault Video: Why Did Police Take Over Two Months To Arrest The Man? | Blueprint

One day after the recent hostilities in Manipur started on May 4, a video of two Kuki women being paraded naked by a crowd is doing the rounds on social media. On May 4, the event took place in the village of Kangpokpi district. According to the first information report (FIR) that was submitted at the event, one of the ladies was gang-raped. The two ladies are seen being led towards some fields in the video by many males who appear to be Meiteis. At least some of the males may be seen groping the women in the footage. According to the FIR, one of the women, age 21, was reportedly subjected to gang sexual assault, and the perpetrators also murdered her 19-year-old brother for trying to step in.
