Elabor - The Peeling Paint of a Forgotten Face - Visualizer

This is the title track off my new album under the name Elabor, paired with some visuals that I’ve used for a couple of live shows performing this new material. The full album can be found at the links below. “Pieced together in 2021 and 2022, these compositions were recorded and compiled in hotel rooms, airports, and on train cars. All places that invoke the idea of transience; places that were far away from my bedroom studio in Richmond. This literal and metaphorical space allowed me to reflect on the past and look to the future. It became a space where I could mourn the things and people I had lost or let go of, but also a place where I could cherish and celebrate the new relationships and friendships that had bloomed in my life. It forced me to search my memory for details to hold on to; the lines of a family member’s face or the sound of an old friend’s laugh. I had to come to terms with the fact that there were not many of those detailed memories left, and if there were any, they were more often than not things that I had imperfectly recreated. I want to encapsulate that transience, that feeling of transformation through loss.
