Attar of Nishapur (also known as Farid al-Din Attar) was a Persian poet and Sufi mystic born in the 12th century in the city of Nishapur, Iran. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest mystical poets of all time, and his works have been deeply influential in the Islamic world for centuries.
