We often hear stories of people who, knowingly or unknowingly, cross the Indian border and get caught. A similar incident has now taken place in Punjab. A 23-year-old farmer named Amritpal Singh from Rana Panjgrain village in Ferozepur district, Punjab, accidentally crossed the India-Pakistan border on 21st June 2025. Amritpal owns farmland near the Zero Line, which is the actual dividing line between India and Pakistan. Some farmers in this area have land that lies beyond the border fence, which is guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF). These farmers have to follow a strict rule – they must sign in and out every day to access their land. On 21st June, Amritpal signed in and went to work on his field, but he did not return to sign out. When the BSF noticed this, they contacted his family to check if he had reached home safely. After learning he was missing, the BSF informed the Pakistan Rangers and also wrote to the Guru Harsahai police station in Punjab on 22nd June, asking them to file a complaint. Finally, on 27th June, BSF officials informed Amritpal’s father, Jugraj Singh, that Amritpal had been caught by the Pakistani police. During a flag meeting between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers, the Rangers confirmed that Amritpal was in custody of the Punjab Police in Pakistan. In the meantime, senior BJP leader and former MP from Hoshiarpur, Avinash Rai Khanna, has written to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, asking the Indian government to take action and bring Amritpal back safely. Efforts are ongoing, and everyone is hoping that Amritpal Singh will return home soon. #PunjabNews #AmritpalSingh #Ferozepur #IndiaPakistan #BreakingNews #IndiaPakistanBorder #Farmer #LatestNews #IndiaSigningHands #ISH #ISHNews #ISL #IndianSignLanguage #SignLanguage ISH News broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment online in Deaf-friendly accessible formats which are in Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual images with titles, voice-over and closed-captions.
