Welcome to your minute of content. We are here to give restoration & insurance pros like you, a quick, powerful tip to help you win more jobs, increase customer satisfaction, and keep your business growing. I'm Mike Cowden, National Sales Director at Content Recovery Specialists, and today's minute is "The Three Buckets of Homeowners Insurance Policies” Homeowners policies have three distinct coverage buckets: structure, contents, and Additional Living Expenses, or ALE for short. It’s critical to note that these buckets never spill into or take from one another. So let’s talk about each of them. Structure covers the home itself and is usually the full policy limit. Contents cover personal property like furniture and clothes, typically 75%-80% of the structure limit. ALE, or Additional Living Expenses, covers temporary living costs if the home is uninhabitable, often up to 20% of the structure limit. On a $300k policy, that’s up to $300k for structure, up to $240k for contents, and up to $60k for ALE. Knowing these buckets are independent helps your team budget accurately, avoid disputes, and keep projects on track. That's your minute. I'm Mike Cowden with Content Recovery Specialist. Stay tuned for your next minute of content.
