Apollo 16 - Full Mission (Day 1 - The Launch/TLI/TDE/TLC) Full first day coverage of the Apollo 16 mission. Onboard are CDR John Young, CMP Ken Mattingly and LMP Charlie Duke. Launch occurred at 17:54 UTC on April 16th 1972 from Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. Countdown coverage is limited to video available from the TV networks and NASA TV feed as well as film and photographs. Pre-launch footage of crew training and the roll-out of the Saturn V launch vehicle to the pad are included as a supplement. Where TV/film/pictures are not available I have used Orbiter (and some KSP) simulator video.
