Doug Ashdown is widely known for his iconic hit song ‘Winter in America’ (included in this concert), but his 60-year/15 album career spans a variety of music styles, and displays a tapestry of work that has earned him a special place in the Australian music scene. For those of us who were lucky enough to see Doug perform at PACT Folk, in Sydney, in the late 1960s and early ‘70s, this video will be a nostalgic trip down memory lane. For younger people, this may be an introduction to a man who is always endearing, always fun, and, whether light or dark, Doug Ashdown's music is always connected to the heart. A treasure!
