Nioh 3 is finally here with a public demo! Join me as I put the PC version through its paces using CachyOS and Proton. We dive deep into Team Ninja’s unique technical quirks, examine the 120 FPS limit, and uncover how the game hides its upscaling settings. Is the native performance enough for high-refresh gaming, or should you stick to the presets? Let’s find out. I regularly take a look at games and how they perform on Linux. I usually examine the performance with Mangohud enabled, try a few graphics presets, and often even work out my preferred combination of visual settings. This is another one of those videos. I also created a playlist just for these types of videos. 🔗 Links ---------------------------------------- 🔗 Nioh 3 on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/36... https://store.steampowered.com/app/33... 🔗 Linux Gameplay Performance Playlist: • Linux Gameplay Performance 🔗 Epic Game Store & Other Freebies Playlist: • Epic Game Store & Amazon Gaming & Demos & ... 🔗 Windows vs. Linux Benchmarks & Mini Reviews Playlist: • Windows vs. Linux Benchmarks ⚙️ System Specs ---------------------------------------- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 32GB RAM DDR5 6000 MT/s PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070XT Hellhound Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD WD SN850 2TB SSD ⏰ Chapters ---------------------------------------- 00:00 Intro 01:34 Hardware & Software 02:08 Game Launch & Menu 04:01 Performance: Default Presets 07:14 Performance: Native Resolution 09:05 Performance: Native Resolution (Boss) 10:29 Screenshots & Image Quality 12:57 Famous Last Words ☑️ Content ---------------------------------------- Nioh 3 Demo technical performance analysis Linux Gaming Setup: CachyOS, Proton-CachyOS, Mesa 25.3 120 FPS cap and engine limitations Hidden Upscaling (FSR 3.1/FSR 4) and DRS settings Native 1440p benchmarks vs. presets UI/UX criticism: Menu navigation and accessibility Stability issues with Frame Generation VRAM usage: 8GB vs. High/Ultra settings Visual quality: Ghosting, Film Grain, and Texture Filtering
