Okay, that wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Still, it's a pretty tricky stage with a lot of weird patterns with weird functions and strats, except with even more weirdness because Marisa was clearly not in mind in the making of the stage portion. I think this stage is one of the go-tos when comparing how different stages can be with different shots. Marisa has to do a lot more work and a lot of weird strats all across the place though I don't think most of them are actually that difficult. The 2nd section and last section can get pretty awkward, though. It's a surprisingly consistent stage section in all. I went with the easier spells for the boss fight. Mai's 2nd spell is just horrible. I know people have spoken enough about the stars but they're just so baffling to me. The nonspells are all rough routes. I changed my opener route pretty last minute so it's still pretty rough around the edges, though you do want to make one dash through the lanes in most cases. 2nd non can be fairly dangerous. You need a separate route depending on which side Satono moves to, with the left being more involved, awkward and overall difficult. She went right this time but surprisngly didn't die when I expected her to. 3rd non is really easy because of how slow it is, making lane switching super safe. Then there's the last 2 patterns, really janky, awkward rng back to back. Behind Festival is one of the strangest spells Touhou has ever put out, with all sorts of weirdness going on. Marisa needs to do this strat where she starts high, dashes down and slowly streams back up. Take care to time the dash down so you don't get sniped by a nearby amulet and try to move out of their way on the move back up. Pay attention to the stars and generally just avoid clumps at all costs rather than trying to dodge them individually; they're so unreliable to work with it's better to just not. Then there's the arrowheads which you really need to see coming as they're very fast. If one is in your way, move, but don't acknowledge them otherwise, just keep a lookout for what's ahead. This spell can get extremely mean if a lot of arrowheads push you away from the boss but it is what it is, I suppose. The final isn't quite as harsh as Behind Festival but it's not one to be underestimated. My advice is to stay high up where possible. If you get stuck at the bottom you lose a lot of options on how to deal with the amulets. The amulets themselves come down at set angles that you can memorise. Only thing is where the dancers are relative to each other changes what kind of dodges you'll need to do but it shouldn't be too big a problem so long as you chose your gaps well. This spell can get very, very tight if Mai aims her lasers awkwardly but for the most part you can handle any situation with good enough decision making. Actually a pretty good spell, even if I died twice to it on pace before. All that remains is stage 6 and it really is very difficult. Two rng heavy patterns and a very dangerous final under pressure. Fun stuff ahead.
