The video showcases the assembly of a DELKOR Paste Thickener with an incredible 14 MNm Maximum Operating Torque (MOT) drive. This machine boasts a very robust design and is specifically engineered for heavy-duty paste tailings applications as an on-ground tank thickener (the same design could however also be applied to elevated tank thickeners). The equipment’s design considers the following special components or aspects: • Improved rake mechanism design to avoid slurry deposit. • DELKOR Forced Dilution system, which enables the thickener to reach desired dilution requirements in the feed stream. • DELKOR Shear Thinning System enables to convert underflow paste slurry with yield stress of 150 to 250 Pa into an easily pumpable slurry even with the solids concentration of 64 - 70%. However, these vitals can change based on the properties of the slurry. • Access through the central column, which allows the operator to walk around the underflow zone in order to perform inspections, general walk-arounds and routine maintenance inspections.
