Kingdom is a zombie series set in South Korea and has just returned to Netflix for season two. The supernatural thriller is the streaming platform's first original Korean series and fans have been hooked. The series is adapted by the webcomic series called The Kingdom of the Gods and it has been positively reviewed. Trending The series is set in Korea's Joseon period and follows the story of Crown Prince Lee Chang (played by Ju Ji-hoon) who is caught up in a political conspiracy. His father, the king, has died and an attempt to revive him goes terribly wrong, spreading a plaque across the whole kingdom. Physician Seo-Bi and the Crown Prince are left with no choice but to find a cure in order to stop the disease from spreading. The plague causes those who are infected to come back to life as zombies, which crave the flesh of the living. READ MORE Kingdom season 3: Why is the king still infected? Season 2 explained Seo-Bi and the Crown Prince have been working together to put an end to the deadly virus and fans have wondered whether there is a chance of romance between them. They have taken to Reddit to discuss the idea of a romantic relationship, and whether there are plans for them to get together in the next series. Lichtyna said: "Does Seo-Bi have feelings for Chang? It's probably just me and I get she admires him but is there room for them to be a couple? "And I don't mean k-drama romance, just them being a couple." Seo-Bi met the Crown Prince in the first series and the pair have been through a lot together, and Seo-Bi is useful for Chang to have around. But fans who have noted the royal family politics within the show have pointed out they may never have a chance to be together. Relentlessdumb said: "Don't even think about it. Not at all. Besides, even though she has [got feelings for him], they will never be able to be together. "It's the royal court's very strict law that a royal cannot marry someone who is not privileged." In the first series Chang admitted to treason against his family and became an outcast from the outset. So he may have a chance with Seo-Bi if a third series allows it. Some fans were pleased a romantic line was left out of the series, as they were keen to focus on the more intense themes. Lightschangecolour said: "I actually really like how they haven’t tried to shoehorn any romantic subplot into the storyline so far because there’s enough intrigue and excitement going on to carry the show very well. "Any romance at this point would just seem forced and unnecessary (to me anyway). Then again I have friends who do like to ship everyone with everyone else so I get how that would be fun for you." Seo-Bi is a level-headed character who knows what her main goal is throughout the series, and she is only interested in helping others. READ MORE Kingdom season 2 location: Where is Kingdom filmed?
